WordPress: Wood vs. Steel
“The best thematic icon set” contest was organized by WordPress to commemorate the 1000th theme sold by ThemeForest (a vast shop for site and blog layout design). We deeply thought about what to draw. We wanted to reflect the original idea in the icon design related to WordPress. We decided to connect various eras of the printing industry:
Everything was started by the good old Gutenberg who invented his famous machine. It was being developed for many centuries and later evolved into sophisticated digital presses. However, the contemporary electronic means of publication do not leave any chances to the machines that print on paper.
Project participants
- Dmitri Joukov — Creative director
- Mike Zhiharev — Icon designer
